The Washington Department of Ecology is leading the development of this data exchange. The project is focused on enhancing the collection, storage, reporting, and exchange of ambient air quality data in the Pacific Northwest. The project goals include developing/enhancing partnerships with other states and tribes in the region; building an accessible, cohesive, coherent, and efficient data collection and environmental information system for ambient air quality data; integrating Federal, state, and tribal data and information systems as requested; providing fast and timely sharing of environmental data to protect human health and the environment; effectively distributing information to the public about current air quality conditions; and implementing cost-savings.
