Exchange Network Architecture
- Node Specifications: Provides a detailed description of an Exchange Network Node’s expected behavior, including function invocation and expected output.
- Node Protocol: Defines the set of rules intended to govern the generation and use of valid service requests and responses on the Exchange Network. The Protocol is intended for use by Node implementers to embed data content standards (defined in Schemas) in service requests and responses.
Building a New Data Exchange
- Exchange Design Rules and Conventions: Describes the design rules and guidelines for the creation of data exchange definitions and documentation for joint use by Partners exchanging data on the Network. The audience for this document include schema and data exchange developers, Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), and implementers. This includes all individuals involved with the design and development of a new or upgraded data exchange including both technical and business experts.
- XML Schema Design Rules and Conventions: Establishes design rules and conventions (DRCs) for the creation and use of the Extensible Markup Language (XML) for joint use by Partners exchanging data on the Network. The audience for this guide includes policymakers, schema developers, XML instance authors, and XML application integrators.
